The Barcelona riots ended, the last days of the tragic week. Contrary to the Government of Spain ' s order to send reserve military personnel to Morocco, called on 26 July for a general strike and initiated as an uprising of workers, the Government moved it. Most of those on the reserve were men from working-class families. The government staged protests with 75 deaths. The tragic week ended on 2 August, when the workers returned to work.
