Azkoitia's rebellion against the lords begins

The neighbours of Azkoitia rose up against the lords. Although the main demand was to lower the price of bread, since the lords had begun to speculate on wheat, it was the response of a hungry people to the excesses of wholesalers. Although they reached an agreement, the rebellion was also lifted in Azpeitia immediately. In the coming days the rebellion also spread to Gipuzkoa, Araba and Bizkaia. It was not, however, the only such insurrection, since a similar trend occurred throughout Europe in the second half of the eighteenth century.
