Fran Aldarondo Ondarru left jail. He was the last Basque political prisoner to leave with the 1977 amnesty decree. When he left prison he had put on his chest a sticker of ETA and the COPEL movement of social prisoners in the Spanish state.
“It doesn’t matter to be a political prisoner. Social prisoners are still missing, marginalized,” he said.
Ondarru was first a member of ETA and entered the Autonomous Anti-Capitalist Commands in 1978. On 17 October 1979, at the age of 30, he was killed by the Civil Guard.
