100,000 people met in Bonn, Germany, to call for a halt to the construction of a nuclear power plant. After several protests, construction of the reactor was halted in 1977, but the authorities wanted to recover it in 1981. Thousands of people gathered to stop it and 10,000 faced the police. There were big riots. The anti-nuclear movement was in many parts of Europe. Finally, in October 1986, shortly after the accident at Chernobyl, the Brokdorf reactor was launched.
