I have always found the way in Spanish to the carriages that can be found here and there: humiliating. Isn't it a pretty light, white name or doesn't it have any connotation? After all, everything that was going on there had to be humiliated. It is known that for the god of overwhelming religions, even though it is formed in its own way, the other beings are nothing, instead of values and capacities, we have only faults and sins.

Many years have passed since the launch of the Income Guarantee Income (IGR). As each one goes through the years, I can remember the time when the Gasteiz government raised its chest, and better than in Spain, the motto hanged in the press conference rooms.

But when the right (right to life) is understood as a limosna, it is sought that citizens become pilgrims. And soon the RGI became a new cult setting. That is what drives the law of the IGR, with all its bureaucracy, with all its obstacles and control.

In no case will they refer to the IGR without mentioning the word of control. They talk about fraud and, without shame, put administrative and bureaucratic shortcomings in the same bag, although the administration itself acknowledges that the majority of the mispayments are by mistake. The reality is that fraud does not reach 0.2%. But the damage is done. At a time when the protection of “vulnerable” people is a fashionable political objective, the Basque Government’s action demonstrates that the IGR’s perceptors are thieves, suspicious and dangerous.

This is increasing in recent years at a rate that has changed the profile of the receiver. He was forced to identify himself with fingerprints and, although he did not say it aloud, after excuses, the topic “all blacks are equal” resonated. Following the last amendment to the 2022 law, control has spread to chilling levels. I say terrible because people have been frightened, by the way. Imagine you're in your house, in a country you don't know yet, and a group of cops have come in to register in drawers, shelves and lockers.

After years of making criminals before the public, was it not time to turn that public opinion into an active subject? Now, neighbors to neighbors spies!

I do not believe that there is a more destructive feeling for the human being than humiliation. We undress with courage and capacity and see ourselves as sin and guilt. Forgiveness strikes us in the head. Apologies for coming from where we came from, apologize for not reaching the end of the month, apologize for being us and for not having the luck others have had. In short, I'm sorry for having existed.

And I ask myself what attitude those who receive this kind of treatment should have with the institutions. What is more, what attitude they have to take towards the society that accepts it.

Institutions that humiliate the population do not want a healthy society. But to point out to the collectives is politically beneficial, so that the citizens who think they are above can cast all the frustrations against them, without worrying about those who are really responsible for their situation.

At this time when racism (and aporophobia), the dirtiest white nationalism, is spreading in the world, our territory is not safe. We soak up more and more. And this is not a theory. This, in practice, we see it and we all listen to it in the streets, in the families, in the circles of friends, the same whether the interlocutor is considered leftist or not.
