The devil with the swords!
Tatxers
International Smoke, 2024
-----------------------------------------
Sticky pop melody guerrillas. Like little Vietcong, one after the other, the Tatxers catch us again with traps or no traps. This is a new album that the hymenical master, although not noticed in the first hearing, will last in time, with changes in the formation (in the Sergio Devesa battery).
On this album, the sound is more elaborate. You can hear two or three guitars, some synth, effects, etc. It has served them to differentiate from the previous album, but at first it is a little more cryptic, and it may be more difficult for us to get to the bottom. The layer sometimes covers the pulp.
The Tatxers are not just melody craftsmen. In the imaginary, the tatxerstas are also high warriors. On the previous album the slogan was “Gurea da lore sorta!”, this time, “Afila swords!”. All songs have to do with shining swords: preparing war to win peace. And at the same time, the themes and landscapes are very varied. Great sculptures of images!
Tatxers is one of the most model groups that stands well without too much noise. A band who loves the underground scene of Euskal Herria and Spain (have not published this in vain with International Smoke). They don't have to claim it, but you won't see them asking for a little bit in the new Basque faranship, slaves of promotion and marketing. They don't have to claim that, but they have a clear class consciousness.
Well, once again, how lucky are we to be Tatxers contemporaries? “And tell me that those old weapons for new wars don’t work. And tell me, to make peace, where we are going to sharpen our arms.”
