The problem of the afrancession of the names of the places of Euskal Herria is not only due to the lack of consideration of the language in the signaling panels, but also to the execution of a decision on the domiciliation that was taken a few years ago.
Ultimately, the legislative decisions taken to simplify and give effect to various areas of administration (which should lead to the decentralisation of Parisian power and administration and to the simplification of the lives of users by the same route) have changed and unified the management system. In many localities the names of the streets, the houses and other places no longer appear in the official addresses as before, but in a simplified and standardized way, like the addresses of any great city in the world. In other words, it has speeded up the French process in our regions.
In fact, in recent years, efforts have been made to harmonize, concretize and rebuild directions. Thus, the addresses of the houses and the names of the streets of our large and (above all) small villages have been molded. Give a name to all the necessary streets and a number to each address.
As a result, the names of the houses have always become numbers and those of the streets are indicative of a simple direction.
With the help of the French administration, toponymy in minority languages has steadily regressed in recent decades. Whether in the case of Euskaldunes, or in other minority languages. Even though, at one time, several forces had already been made on maps to collect and integrate names from old sites.
Our toponymy bears witness to our roots and to what unites us as Basques. Maybe that's why some people want it to disappear.
In addition, urban speed leads us to the appearance of grasslands in the fields. No one, or almost no one, can think of these new lotizations as naming Euskera or other languages.
Even if they are good, for example, because it facilitates the work of the carterers, firefighters, taxpayers, etc., it looks regrettable, as it does not take into account the historical name of the places. The numbers and curious toponyms take the place of the old names of the houses in Euskera, which are disappearing virtually from the official addresses. Euskal Herria is not the only territory that suffers the consequences of this decision. In Brittany, the Koun Breizh association has put the same problem on the table, as well as in Gascuña, Corsica or Alsace, among others.
In compliance with the obligation to change residence, the mission, in exchange for a few thousand euros, is left to the administration and the mail that has nothing to do with our linguistic considerations the identification of the places. And users pay today to denaturalize their territory!
Furthermore, we will have to read the damage caused in our toponymy, because in addition to the unreasonable names, we will have to see some curious addresses. For example, Le chemin d’Arrangoitze.
Our toponymy bears witness to our roots and to what unites us as Basques. Maybe that's why some people want it to disappear.
In addition to the serious linguistic emergency, UNESCO believes that our toponymy is part of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind and calls on the public authorities to protect it. Debaldeta.
This symbolic recognition would help to strengthen respect for our language, which is already too lacking.
When you don't leave, when you delete, you resist. We are at a turning point, on more than one level, of our history and our trajectory as speakers.

This weekend I've been thinking about the word 'aesthetic' in relation to a phrase said by a friend: “This work is aesthetic.” I have studied the etymology of the word aesthetic, it seems that its meaning was originally perceived through the senses, and it was later associated... [+]
