In the case of Elon Musk, in my opinion, the effort to influence technologies that are of great importance in human relations: telecommunications (Starlink), social networks (X), payments (PayPal), other relationship interfaces (Neuralink)...

Last week, in Brazil, social network X, which I still call Twitter, closed to traffic, according to the same source. It seems that it was the result of a conflict of years, due to the influence that some far-right activities had on Brazilian society: fake news, forms of action of organized groups that manipulated the discourse, and the role that played in the attack on the Brazilian Congress some of the issues of this network. A judge of the Brazilian Supreme Court ordered Elon Musk to close several Red X accounts that were pending payment. Elon Musk, in order to evade the order, withdrew X’s legal representative in Brazil, so that the judge could not lead anyone. The judge ordered all Brazilian Internet operators to block the X network, which was suspended by a fine. As the owner of the StarLink infrastructure, Elon Musk said no, that StarLink users would remain X. In Brazil, sovereignty was called into question. But StarLink has a legal representative in Brazil, and the judge told him that if he didn't comply with the order, he would freeze his current accounts. About to miss the opportunity to maintain its economic activity in the municipality, Elon Musken StarLink was unable to keep the X network open.

Some owners of large platforms behave like Middle Ages lords, concentrate power and recognize no more power than theirs. All in search of a supposed freedom, often converted into a freedom to oppress third parties.
