Larrahe and coexistence

DOM CAMPISTRON

My friend M. lives in an unparalleled setting. In a town of Navarra, near the Comarca of Pamplona, full of diverse and living people. It does not live in the same town, but in a kind of hill that can resemble the watchtower and from which, of course, not only the town can see, but also the views of the mountains, some of Gipuzkoa.

Since it was once the house of the priest, he began to call it Casa Cural, even until the son of the people, Patxi, made by hand (and with great affection) a wood carving that bears this name, and that welcomes us to the friends that we have the honor of living or being invited there, ever since.

As it is very large, M. shares with other people some domestic spaces, thus creating a small community of Apezetxea, little by little, without noticing. Of course, the condition of a resident is that he is Euskaldun, and you do not know what sociological and political analysis could be made of the stir that M. makes that request in the search for a new cohabitation partner. If not having pets was what was required, or having a fixed job, or not being a smoker, or being a woman, or I don't know what specific profile if it was wanted, there would be no problem, but the Basque... ay, friend.

Language profiling doesn't just disturb judges. The nationalist beast of Spain of those citizens of the world who live in our country in a somewhat camouflaged manner also awakens rapidly in these circumstances. They find it discriminatory, they ask or demand reasons, they don't understand, and some start giving them speeches, especially when they see that M. doesn't give justifications. That's right, and that's it.

They begin to talk about the value of plurality, as if the presence of Spain in the authenticity of coexistence was an implicit requirement.

The most insolent dare to say that this attitude in favor of the language that should be natural in another situation, they consider it rigid, and begin to talk about the value of plurality and openness, the value of learning to live together, as if the presence of the Spanish in the authenticity of the coexistence were implicit as if the coexistence in Basque was impossible.

Last month, the members of the Society of Sciences Aranzadi made in this house the presentation of the altar that was found on Mount Arriaundi, dedicated to the bascoppic dibinality Larra(he). Along with the proud neighbors who have been the protagonists of the discovery, in which the excavations have been carried out in Auzolan, there were also political representatives, of the people, of the valley and, of course, of this institution considered as the government of Navarra.

Well, the representative of that false government was not in the name of a government that intends to free itself from the unfortunate fate of the invasions and occupations, making a speech of Basque pride, which would rise to the importance of that discovery, but from the mouth of a Basque full of complexes, whose dependence is embedded into the bowels. On the other hand, as corresponds to the representation of a colonial institution, as to the submissive and submissive indigenous people that the foreign power has regained for itself.

What do you think emphasized what the discovery of the altar can show? It is a testament to the eternal diversity of this earth. And to make a cry about what you think took advantage of the historical moment? The need to nurture this coexistence for the future. In looting, offal.

There are two different ways of understanding coexistence.
