Abel Enbeitia asked in the weekly Alea how many people we want the Basque language to be cultural. I think we ask it and we analyze it little. Often when speaking of use we refer to eleven thousand more data, and it seems that for a Basque the Basque language is or is not a cultural language, it does not affect the use (oral). (We are one of the peoples that most distinguishes “empty” oral use from other uses, I am sure).
Why is child and youth use reduced in a respiratory area? Because families from other backgrounds have reached the village, or because children are consuming more and more cultural products (or acculturals) in Spanish by television, the Internet, etc. ?
I am not fond of personifying collective problems, but I am going to give examples with names and surnames, but not with the intention of blaming anyone: the youtuber azkoitia Iban García makes his videos in Spanish (if he is not for EITB) and Zuhaitz Gurrutxaga and Ander Izagirre have recently published Runner-up in Spanish.
I forgive what was said wrong, but I believe that Basque cultural activity is still very male and very focused.
A few years ago, I asked them if two Euskaldun-Zaharras were going to do something like youtuber -- in Basque. They looked at me with the cow's eyes, "How many followers like that?"
As Willis Drummond has left, Jurgi Ekiza Kazeta.eus has stated that “Many groups speak half in Basque and half in Spanish, saying “Hau gives my reality.” It’s obvious that it’s our reality, so Willis Drummond would also make nine out of ten songs in French.” And in Cira Crespok Berria: “How little history have the Basques made for the Basques, that is, in Basque. It seems that without the approval of Castilian speaking readers, history cannot be made.”
The folded films were disappearing from ETB1 and only four geek cats were noticed. We want Netflix in Basque (all right, huh! ), but how many times is the ETB1 budget less than ETB2? Adult literacy and Euskaldunization are not yet free, and in the Holy Roman Catholic University the Basque language is not the school language for all children.
Come on, please, I don't give one of the thirteen edges -- because, excuse me for what you say wrong, but I think that Basque cultural activity is still very masculine and very focused. Another path proposed by Lorea Agirre and Idurre Eskisabel was the feminist movement that has grown and influenced the most in recent years. The Basque Country, even on its margins (territorial or bodily), breathes in the front line of the linguistic conflict.

I don't want my daughter disguising herself as a Gypsy in the caldereros. I don’t want Gypsy children at my daughter’s school to dress up as Gypsies in caldereros. Because being a gypsy is not a disguise. Because being a gypsy is not a party that takes place once a year, with... [+]

I received your e-mail in personal mail on the strike portals. At first, like many others, I thought it was to let you know what options we have in the face of the strike. But no, the e-mail received was a political and communicative movement against the strike.

This weekend I've been thinking about the word 'aesthetic' in relation to a phrase said by a friend: “This work is aesthetic.” I have studied the etymology of the word aesthetic, it seems that its meaning was originally perceived through the senses, and it was later associated... [+]
The other day in Bilbao, I met a friend at the Bira bar. We were very happy at the Tar and I said: “Of course, since you’re Guipúzcoa, hahahaha.” And he insisted that he was not Guipuzcoan. Without me understanding it, I kept saying, “Ah! Is it not? You were born in New... [+]
