The chronicle that I started writing in Bermeo Square has spread to me for almost two years. My first time in August of 2021, I saw my friends from Tatxers on the board, and I remember that Xabi took us home and sketched out in the booklet for my notes a phrase like, "It's not a time for serious things." I have tried other times, but it has always swallowed the concert and so far I have not lived from the outside and I have managed to take some notes.
Jon Salinas, bass and singer of the group, has had to live six years in Bilbao to step for the first time a tablated city. Six years waiting, but not with anyone and to go on any stage. TOC's worldly friends have left the Kafe Antzokia's stage hot and excited to sing the hanging room. They told us this before going on stage Jon and Martin, and immediately she felt excited when the witness was just picked up by the Biscayan. “No one moving is nostalgic,” Xalba Ramírez wrote in his criticism of the album, which is what the three young people have been attributed to for their musical style. For nostalgia is far from the Theatre.
Tatxers has drawn attention over the last few years and months, but I think they have not looked sufficiently into the strength of some messages they speak. “How to distribute pain”; “if everything changes, how not I”; “my friends always go to places where I don’t want to go”; “we are more than we produce”; “to show how much not to live, but to show”; “it is not to give in, but to rest”. Those I keep in my pocket. I don't know if it's flirting a lot, but I dare say that you notice (for the better) that there's a fine arts student behind some of these words.
The trio has the ability to paint pretty sorrows through the melodies they build, in Pamplona, in Goiz-Oskorri or in the Paper Tiger in the most outstanding way. I recognize that in the instrumental end of the latter I cannot avoid the Long Life of Coldplay.
In the interview that Uxue Rey did in Berria the other day he said that everyone has to have a shadow that light from his time. And how nice on Thursday night, with Kafe Antzokia in the shadows, to see someone stretching his arm and throwing a bouquet of flowers onstage. The atmosphere smells like joy. It is all that goes far beyond the music that a musical group does, “we are more than we produce.” Perhaps that above all?
Also by music, but by another that goes further, they are the best (and by being in Euskalerria Irratia putting music on Monday morning and making known some of his beautiful songs). Those who are not afraid of change have a long way to go.
