The lists of students with food allergies or intolerance in school canteens are becoming longer and longer. Over 1,800 allergies have been reported. Diets for students with special dietary needs increase each year. For the generation in which we conducted General Basic Education studies in the late 1970s and 1980s, the phenomenon was completely unknown.

Several reasons have been given and the reason for this exponential growth is under discussion. They say that eating habits, pollution and climate change are among the agents. But the excessive hygiene that prevents the normal development of the immune system has also been mentioned. Soiling the fangs by playing, as we did, makes the body develop defenses. We, if the lunch sandwich fell to the ground, took it, beat it and ate it without militias. Did you realize that children don't die at all today? (mukizu meant a child) Apparently, hanging mucus was a sign that our body was working to adapt to the environment and resist.

If we go from body to head (head is a part of the body, yes, a way to speak), similar: obsessive compulsive disorder in childhood and adolescence; devastating mood deregulation disorder; nonverbal learning disorder; defiant negativist disorder; separation anxiety disorder; school phobia; social anxiety disorder. It's a very small sample, there are many more disorders. Something completely new to our generation. The number of pupils with special needs in this area is also growing steadily.

The labeling of an adolescent as hyperactive, with or without correct diagnosis, influences their behavior

Specialists discuss the causes of the unprecedented proliferation of psychological disorders. Some say they already existed, but since they were not named, they were not identified and passed without diagnosis or treatment. The opposite hypothesis has also been raised, which I believe we should consider. Have you heard of overdiagnosis?

The philosopher Ian Hacking has long explained something that can help us understand it. When we classify tree types or astros, for example, and we say a celestial body is a planet, the classified object doesn't care. The classification may be well or poorly made (maybe it's not a planet, but a satellite, and we've been wrong in naming it), but this doesn't affect the classified object and it's going to keep turning on its own. On the contrary, when classified objects are people, something curious happens: classifications affect classified people. The labeling of an adolescent as hyperactive, with or without correct diagnosis, influences the behavior of the adolescent thus classified. Hacking states that natural classes are not interactive, but humans do produce a loop effect. Human classifications also produce the phenomenon known in sociology as "self-paced prophecy." In the past, when the hyperactivity label didn't exist, there were very moving kids, but it was simply understood that there were children more moved than others. Is it possible that what "name gives being" is happening here?

A couple more facts: the first psychology faculty in Spain started in 1980. In addition, we know that late capitalism is not about satisfying a demand, but about creating it. I'm not going to say we've filled the whole puzzle, but we have the key pieces to understand the main lines of the image. Let's take the accounts.
