On March 8, the Feminist Movement of the Basque Country announced a strike in favor of the public care system for the fall, as care cannot remain business. Now, through the streets, through the neighborhoods, through the villages, you have to articulate the movement of that strike. The call for strike is also a response to the proposal to turn the fighting day into a holiday (and the desire for the previous feminist strike to be meaningless).
Feminists have shown that the rights won do not last forever, that they attack them over and over and that they may be in danger if we do not defend them. What appeared to be a universal right to health is at stake, the privatization of the health system that is taking place while the public is being destroyed cannot be accepted. At the same time, the maintenance of the pension system is creating tension on the streets, delaying the retirement age and tightening conditions, making it difficult and delaying access to work for young people. And care for the elderly is being left in private hands, often burdened at the expense of women in a very precarious employment situation.
Therefore, in the middle of life there are sufficient reasons to go on strike.
