A small group of friends are in rows. There is no musical group in the room, but music invades the Spora space. Turn on the walls, then on five speakers. The Dan Danok disc of the Akauzazte group is placed on the music player. People listen carefully. Silence and many eyes closed. The image is strong from the outside if you're not inside the circle. So I am, with my eyes open and circling the room, accompanying music on a journey around people.
This was to listen in two formats. The disc has two faces. In one of them there are eleven songs, in the other just seven. As usual in Akauzazti, these songs were cooked on slow fire in Matadeix, at home, where not. There they were recorded, mixed and conditioned in the shelter in front of Izarraitz. These mixtures were remodeled by Ángel Katarain in his own way, mixed in form 5.1. So listening to this album is like starting out in the mirror: two looks, two different experiences. We face two similar worlds, two sides of the same coin.
This was to expand the Akauzeke universe. Although the group moves in its usual coordinates, driven by its own cannibal hunger, they continued to explore new fields in their seventh work. Here, along with the references of Artze, Laboa, Neubauten, Swans, Cave, etc., the music from the viscera and brought from the dark face of the unconscious, we will discover new territories. The map shows the hidden valleys and caves. The version prepared by Katarain transits places where the group could not. As Mr. Roge said in the conversation following the hearing, “This could not be lost.”
Sometimes tears also fall in the eyes of some listeners. This was to sing another person. That is what the first sentence opens the work says. This starts the disc as an exorcism. This was for Josetxo Anitua. After his death, the team members had to fill the gap he left. Despite the invocations, death will be all over the record. It will be impossible to dodge ghosts. We better come together with them and hear what they have to say to us. Mutual recognition of their presence and essence. Some listeners have accepted this. This was for everybody. Self-production and liberation. This is the nature of Akauzazterlan. Unfortunately, a special device is needed to listen to version 5.1, which few have at their disposal. That is why this
event has been organized to enjoy this special mix, to know what is on the other side of the mirror. To discover together the most unknown corners of the universe of action.
