Tomb of heads
  • The Vráble-Ve`lke Lehemby of Slovakia is one of the major deposits in Europe at the beginning of the Neolithic (7,000-5,000 years ago), and in the campaign last year a special finding was discovered: in the ditch surrounding the village were found remains of 38 people.

All the bodies were headless, except for a small child. Archaeologists believe that not all corpses were thrown at once and that at least some were carefully and not violently removed from their heads.

But for the moment, the discovery raises more questions than answers: did they live in that community or were they foreign? How did they die? For a conflict? A ritual sacrifice? When did their heads cut and why?
