I was surprised – in a good sense – by this new project. In Bergara, Aitor Aldanondo, created around a stone, has many senses. In this work he wanted to somehow get what he has lived for years.

Aldanondo started her musical career in the Criminal Brigade group, dedicated to punk harry. One day, however, this style became a stone-like burden for the members of the group and, above all, what surrounded it. So they decided to go to the essence of the stone, the rock, the origin and they created the Fiachras cairn outside the poses. They were at ease, but deepening deeper under the stone and together with their friends from Santa Maria, they gave birth to Barbados, from a pretty wild folk.

Then, Aldanondo moves a little away from the scenes and takes that time to look inwards. What has been given to him by the vivid and sculptured on the skin, has wanted to translate into this album life after death, the one earned to lessons and suffering; the stone of the alchemists, in essence.

Thus, in this new project he has launched with Maitane, Ekaitz and Guille he sings the learned, the lived, the grateful and the celebrated. In addition, he has gathered other accomplices along the road: Freddi Pelaez, Haritz Artola, Adolfo Alcocer, Domentx Uzin, Iñigo Cabezafuego, Mikel Azkargorta, a string octet and others. Each of them has reinforced the weight, the load and the tone of the song.

And here, in the only work that the project has given birth so far, in the twelve songs sung in Basque, there are environments that have been significant in the trajectory of Aldanondo and others more unknown. With environments similar to Calexico and Morricone, and songs to give with old Shane McGowan. On the other hand, they have not wanted to abandon folk, nor rock without artifacts from the Hertzainak school. And also, a tendency towards psychodelia, as in some very prominent songs.
