Beyond wind farms
Following the ongoing debate on energy, some hypersummarised notes are:
1.Energia is not only a commodity, but also an economic precondition.
2. Oil is and will be irreplaceable, let us not fool ourselves.
3. Our energy model depends on fossil fuels and we outsource their damage.
4th. Euskadi is above the EU average CO2 emissions.
5. In Europe, only Luxembourg produces less energy than the CAPV.
6. The global unstable political climate is another reason for the relocation of the economy (including energy).
7. When it comes to energy, I lack reviews against the intention to extend Petronor (12% of CO2 emissions from the Basque Country) or the Superport (1.5% of GDP), infrastructures that feed the Monster day and night.
8. What futures are possible taking into account the available material bases? There will be no linear and continuous energy transition without any contradiction. Unfortunately, we are late.
9. Of course, to reduce energy consumption we need a roadmap with concrete data. We would have to discuss how to implement that plan, including power. The issue is quite complicated.
10. In Astigarraga they will have Christmas lighting by decision of the popular consultation.
11. "Defense of the Earth" and "Just Slowdown" are slogans of attraction, not political programs.
12. "There are no wind towers, there are photovoltaic plates," and if in our mountains there are minerals that are part of the solar panels... What would we say?
13. One Errekaleor plate or another Iberdrola plate causes the same reduction.
14. Today's mountaineering is a good metaphor, we don't want wind in the mountains at all, but we make hundreds or thousands of miles to get to the mountain.
15. In environmentalism, a conservationist vision has historically been imposed on the social side, but if with wind farms we could decarbonize the economy and lower the bill?

17. The spectacularity of wind towers makes us uncomfortable in our ecological political identities. This brings the rest of the debate to life.
18. Pro-versus schemes oversimplify the debate.
19. Statkraft is not an NGO, but it is not Repsol either. What if instead of waiting for your proposal, the organized people did? There are risks, there are opportunities.
20. It is healthy that environmentalism is not a monolithic block. Properly managing our discrepancies will be one of the keys to success in building a broad movement.
