The bridge marks the border between two worlds. One side is the road leading to Bilbao. Nothing else, nowhere. The bridge is a customs between the known world and the liminal zone. We cross it underneath as if it were a cement portal that is going to take us to another dimension, in search of the hustle and bustle that we have to create on the other side. There, in the remains of a huge and rich neighborhood of chalets that did not finish building, they organize the II among the ghosts of a future that has never materialized. Kalapita Fest.

Kalapita Fest II
WHEN: 9 October
WHERE:Txorierri

In this abandoned area of the Txorierri, following the road between cement and shrubland, we have found one by one the six performances they have organized. The first has been inside a tunnel. In it, Alex Mendizabal has played with the sound of the loops emitting the two speakers placed inside a garbage bag attached to a reed, dancing the bags in the air from one side to the other. Movement, echo of the tunnel and intermittent signal losses have produced a good result.

We have come to the next meeting under the sun and silence. Along the way, we came across a little bike driven by a child, perhaps the ghost of one of the neighbors who were going to come here. In a corner of the slit cement, among weeds, we find a trio formed by Izarne Oyarzabal, Mikel Vega and Fernando Ulzio. The dance of the former responds to the musical improvisation of the latter two, while in the remoteness the take-off and landing of the planes took place. From time to time the dantzari pulls the weeds as if he wanted to awaken the landscape of death.

To enjoy the third installment we have entered into what had to be the urbanization water tank, where Ibon RG and Luis Andre have presented the record recorded there. They've been looking at the cement, banging on a trumpet wind. Two creatures try to speak. The swamp itself has been a third musician who has brought any sound from its interior, a bit of sea and a strong kick to the earth to another dimension.

After eating on grass, we head to the final area, to another tunnel. Three actions have been scheduled. When we leave the trance situation created by the Wrap couple, Lorea Oar-Arteta has put us to experiment with sound, passing from rumor to scream. From there to silence. Finally, we have the performance of Don the tigger (Adrian de Alfonso). There, at the end of a tunnel that leads nowhere, its beautiful voice has led us through melancholic and dark landscapes.

We've come out of this forgotten area with the last sun rays of the day. We cross a barrier and return to civilization, after spending a good day nowhere. Crossing the border has been worth it.
