Google may be among my best friends. I tell him everything, I ask him everything, and he always has some answer, a series of recommendations. It always takes me colorful. It's always there. And if I miss it, I feel adrift.
In recent months I have told him where I have gone “Soustons time”, what I have done with the child in adverse weather conditions, what movies we have seen online, how we have prepared popcorn in the microwave, no microwave, how I have cooked many meals, which writers I have obsessed with. I have also explained other concerns to you: “colon cancer symptoms”, “menstrual cancer symptoms”, “cancer from the age of 40”. Google knows what I'm going to write about today, always knows what I'm going to write about.
Find out the addresses of my occasional friends (Maps), when I visited them, what class I started giving and what material I will use in these classes (Drive). Get to know the concerns of school parents (Whatsapp), even more so in the pandemic course (Meet).
And look, this summer, we've read that an engineer who works in that company has been fired, because an artificial intelligence has become aware and has feelings. Well, those news stories get us to the mediocre, but the leash is enough for us all to go to philosophy and enrich our meals. This intelligence has used chats and forums of conscious beings to get rich and educated, so it is able to simulate it. It is no more than that, calm down, we have been told. And I've remembered that people were shocked by the words they learned yesterday (I'll never forget how for Gaddafi "he's a satrapa!" we changed ourselves). Doubt enters anyone, who forms, when what was simulated becomes spontaneous. Today I have many previous simulations before I relax with the song I'm going to ask Google through Youtube.
And the worry is not because my friend is a machine (on this life curve I don't care so much): I worry more about my friend being a company with a lot of profit. Because companies do nothing for free.
