In different times human cultures have internalized changes, cultures live in a symbiosis with the environment, knowing that what we understand by environment are many things: physical space, virtual space, the ways of relating between human beings (around and other beings and beings of the world)... Change can have many directions, and of course, if you don't like what's coming, you can do something else.
It has happened to me several times that I have felt the change in myself, sometimes I have understood that my worldview was limited, sometimes oppressed by the very culture of my environment. And within me, I've suspected cosmogenesis, the birth of a different way of understanding and influencing the world. These changes are not very mental, I don't control them, I suspect overnight.
Lately I've been fond of fictional writer Octavia Butler, I really like how within his fiction he addresses the everyday fears and conflicts of human beings, putting people on a crossroads. In Lilith Leinua's book, aliens use living matter as raw material and machine to build anything; they tell humans that in order to return to the world they have ended up in need of genetic transformation. These aliens, to survive, mix with their matter the genetic material of beings throughout the universe. And when we mix up something new emerges, not the idea of the oppression of cultures that we have in our world, is something else. I find it hard to understand because I always suspect there is a loser. But Octavia's idea is closer to the skin change of a reptile, a change that allows you to survive leaving something behind. In the human world, tranquillity and rest are what brings us closer to such an experience. If you have holidays, so that you have that opportunity, we will read again.
