Cosmic knot

I've seen the documentary Cosmos again. Espinoza speaks of the medieval philosopher, of his idea of religion, very close to the idea of the cosmos: a system full of harmony that gathers all the relationships of the self. The goal for Espinoza was to understand the cosmos, understanding that understanding presupposes freedom. And we can look for the path to freedom in understanding the cosmos.

The path of understanding is not easy and many times human beings tend to complicate things for the benefit of our interests. We do not share knowledge, we protect knowledge, we express ourselves in a complex way... and with these behaviors we turn the cosmos into an increasingly complex one. To understand these knots, we then create new learning.

Digitalization technologies have several potentials to make the cosmos more understandable, but also important risks to make it more complicated. In this sense, there are multiple fields of study to liberate some of the “cosmic knots” that humans create, one of which is “digital anthropology”. According to Wikipedia, anthropology is the study of humanity. It deals with human behavior, biology, cultures, languages. Today and in the past. Digital anthropology would be the study of the relationship between human beings and digital technology and extends to different areas where anthropology and technology intersect.

Digital technologies that can guide behaviors, digital technologies that bodies are conquering, those that are driving the idea of culture, those that are changing the idea of language…, I think they tend to transform and complicate it more than to better understand our contemporary cosmos. So I like to learn how to understand the times we live, like digital anthropology. Welcome to those who come to undo the knots and to create and share knowledge in a more orderly and comprehensible way.
