Promoting Euskaldunberris

There is no more human action than the division of the world into clusters and categories. And yet, we often don't like to feel involved. Normal. The theme often resides in the values we attribute to these categories. If we add to this that we are speakers of a minority language and are chained in this violent linguistic and national identity conflict, a cocktail of multiple linguistic tensions is prepared.

But why don't you like some of you to be Euskaldunberris? Some ask when they will arrive, from Euskaldunberris to Basque. And I suspect that this has to do with, among other things, the way we have to understand vasquity today, which surely is related to the political process of reeuskaldunization: vasquity is something that someone should give us, a kind of accreditation, that someday we will get. Fortunately, it doesn't work that way, folks, language empowerment is a lifelong journey.

It's a beautiful, exciting and amazing journey. Of all Basques. We cannot agree more with Karmele Jai: we are all Euskaldunberris, because a language starts every day. We are language, we are making language and we have challenges ahead.

"Euskaldunberría is my treasure. Highly appreciated. Dear for all that gives me and gives me the way"

In any case, the empowerment of the first language and the empowerment of the second are different psychological processes. So different that physiologically our brain acts differently. And while you require more effort, you can also give us more happiness.

When we learn a second language, we have to make a great effort to master all the parameters: phonetics, morphosyntactic, lexical… language we reflect. And this can often give us a deeper understanding of what a person who is born can have.

It is a fantastic journey if we look at the processes of oneself: what, when, how we do it, why and with whom we do it… Do you remember the first time you spoke of the mother tongue and a word in Basque naturally replaced Castilian?

If we think well, Euskaldunberris have more freedom to use Euskera as a plastilin. We are not associated with any dialect or popular form. Along the way we take what we like and incorporate it into our heritage. We're creating our own favorite idiolect.

But, Sonia, don't cheat. Recognize that you have also spent years with strange feelings… Yes, and maybe that’s why I’ve written this. An exciting journey is what language does in us. Look. As with sex, getting rid of complexes is the only way to really enjoy. And I'm also going to tell you something else: in the farmhouse of the political family, I still feel the Kutsidazu road bidea, as I would in Ixabel's book. And nothing happens.

Euskaldunberría is my treasure. Highly appreciated. Dear for all that gives me and gives me the way, but not for the effort it entails. Nobody deserves an extra. It is not a work that is made convinced and comfortable. And, as we all know, if something is really difficult, that is to be Basque, to live in Basque, to be able to use our language naturally in all areas. The truth is undeniable: in the background, new or old, we are all Basque and we are all on the same side of the trench.
