With my conscience, it has happened to me two or three times, and in all of this I was left without believing: How could one explain to me as if it were yours, not too far away the same idea or argument that I had told him?
It seems so amazing, so amazing, that I was silent on every occasion when it happened to me, I mute: I doubt that that idea or argument was really mine or it was a victim of hallucination.
But like all that bears a name, and if the name is in English, it's safer, I've discovered the phenomenon: hepeating, when a man does it to a woman, in most cases, and wheapeating, when whites do it to blacks. It's happened to me with men.
"What is the mechanism that drives a person to get something heard from another (not just anything, but something original, innovative or interesting) almost without noticing?"
In the things I have read about the phenomenon, it is not clear whether hepeating is becoming aware of what it is doing. Of course, in highly competitive environments and meetings, the authors act fully aware that this conduct (listening to one idea of another without giving it explicit relevance, and then taking advantage of it as their own) can be very cost-effective.
But it's not always that way. When it happened to me, there was nothing at stake, in addition to the situations of the interlocutors, and that makes the behavior more surprising. That is why it seems to me that sometimes those who do so are going unnoticed. And if so, the questions come in a reckless way: what mechanism drives a person to get something heard from another (not anything, but something original, innovative or interesting) almost without noticing? And why is it more common for a man to do it with the ideas of a woman, or a white with the ideas of a black woman, who is generally considered socially or hierarchically more powerful or weaker?
These questions are not rhetorical and may lead to worrying hypotheses: Are gender, race, society or class differences so radical in us, so deeply rooted in the unconscious, inequalities that you can fully allow yourself, and do it quietly to appropriate someone else's ideas?
Who repeats the idea of another without citing the source, is hiding in the deepest part of the unconscious because he has this belief more valued than the other?
And how far is the history of mankind plagued by these microploms, how far do we have internalized, normalized, their legitimacy?

I'd like to write to this thing that I'm inside. Almost five years have passed since the pandemic, and those of us who were young at the time, although we are still young, have begun to orbit in other spaces. Housing, the project of life, maternity, work, health... the agendas of... [+]

Being is doing. This is what the Durango Fair says this year, and it is true, at least in the case of the fair itself and taking into account Euskal Herria. This edition is already the 59th edition of the Azoka, and the fact that each year is celebrated shows that the Durango... [+]
