What do these Basques want but
For the brand, I do not know whether the Basques that are going to be another country around the world receive another offer and a political proposal. From one year to the next they offer us everything: autarchy, autonomy, federation, confederation, independence (light or heavy), adjective or forced republic, risen historical kingdom, foral political concert… what do I know which institutional political formulas I want to sell, usually from outside, from time to time from home. Are they real offers or are they traces of goods at the time of sale?
Sleek pulp-free wrapping. The interior of all of them is empty. Because under no circumstances is it possible to specify what is offered to us within each of these formulae. “We decide,” he says. Yes, but about what? What are the real options?

And nobody makes that clear to us.
Euskal Herria is a nation, but so far, at least, an undesirable nation. If any nation has to live, it necessarily needs basic conditions. Build a shared human community. A defined territory of its own, not closed, but respected. A stabilized own polysystem that allows for an adequate organization of coexistence. Knowledge, acceptance and respect of the surrounding nations and states. And we have not yet reached those bases.
Among the generous offers that make us from the outside, some make us promise a promising future, but under specific conditions: “Do not break the current one, respect what is in the state, and within it you will have the autonomy you want, always respecting the general orders of the nation-state.” But these main mandates are precisely those that lead to the dissolution of Basque nationality. Let us take, by way of example, the debate that has been generated about the new law of education for the CAV on the Basque Country. The linguistic immersion system for the Basque Country is not mentioned by State/Status supporters. It is not “politically correct” in the opinion of local institutional parties. In Parliament, therefore, no one will defend immersion in favour of the Basque country. Look! & '97; And meanwhile, the Basques “dive” us in Spanish/French. That order of knowing the Castilian that brings the Spanish constitution (“duty to know”), what kind of democratic immersion is, then? Does the Basque Country not have a similar situation in this case?
At home, those who offer us independence or confederal Basque republic should clarify what and how we have to act on that path to complete and consolidate the Basque nation, so that we do not know, for example, that said with all respect, but that, as is happening to the Irish, to achieve a unified independent state, the nation is lost and an innate cloned identity that looks like the old metropolis is produced all too often.
I believe that the Basques want the Basque Republic. An independent state, but based on the foundations of the democratic Basque organized nation. That is what we want.
