After a month, the feminists will take to the streets the day of working women. We have an annual appointment that we have organised and prepared enthusiastically every year. Last week we looked back at the Portugalete Assembly, remembering the feminist strikes of 2018 and 2019.

With the strike we finalized the strike system and denounced, among other things, the oppression caused by the sexual division of work with women*. What's more, we invite women to stop doing the care tasks that we do for free and in the name of love, that are the ones that sustain life and that we would put the world at risk.

We were not the only ones or the first ones. The first stone was laid by the Argentinians, leaving the country completely stuck for a day. We took the witness in Euskal Herria and, together with other territories, took the streets. Success was immediate. In 2019, we called for the need to place lives at the centre of the heteropatriarchal capitalist system. Success repeats itself. The feminist movement in Euskal Herria did a great job of self-organization, the feminist strikes were historic.

March 8, 2020 was Sunday. We don't call a strike, but we do take the streets. The need and strength of the organization were the axis: “Organize forces, join the feminist struggle. Under the slogan “You are ahead!”. A few months later we got home from the situation created by COVID-19, we were confined. They wanted us to believe that the cause of the virus infection was that of the feminist subjects who participated in these mobilizations. In spite of everything, all the citizens were at home, we were going out in the street to make the purchase or to go to the jobs that are essential. Mobilisation or any protest has cost us a lot of time and effort. It's still costing us.

We need to address the motto and the intention of 2020, we need to make visible the need to organize ourselves in the feminist movement. For us to have a strong movement, we have to organize, unite and unite the feminist subject, subject of the struggle, between multiple agents and diverse. It is up to us to continue the path that has been taken. The pandemic presents us with a huge challenge before our eyes: the struggle and construction of a Community Public Surveillance System to stop commercializing care and to stop women* from monitoring for free in the name of love. To meet this challenge, we may have to resort to different forms of struggle, including strike. So let us organize and fill the streets, on 8 March 2022 we are at the door.
