Museum officials have explained that RI 2394 packaging waste sunk in Newport (Rhode Island, USA) belongs “without a doubt” to Endeavour. On the same day, however, the Rhode Island Marine Archaeology Project (RIMAP) indicated that it is “too early” to confirm the discovery and that they have not found “indisputable evidence”.

In addition, it should be noted that Endeavour was the first “European” vessel to sail through these waters, but before many boats sailed through them.
