Small objects
I start the year with a commitment to myself, write it in ARGIA. When I started the process of unfinished Euskaldunization, Zeruko Argia was a sacred journal in which most of the free and committed thought of Euskal Herria was written... and now I will try to think and write in this same field...
And what to write about in this new beginning of so many things? Those around the virus? Or is it better to look elsewhere… Now that the pandemic mist is beginning to disappear, what does the reality of this small town look like? This reality transforms much faster than I do, and sometimes, in order not to lose it, I have to look away.
I have stressed that I have very little knowledge of my society, of my profession, of Basque policy, of the values that we are defending today’s citizens. I know almost nothing about the changes taking place on the planet, nor about those correcting those changes.
Although I look for different information, I do not find any reassuring or worrying answers.
I only realize that a new era is opening up in the face of humanity, and that I hardly see where the journey of this great parable of change will end.
Therefore, immersed in this global uncertainty, I have endeavoured to make my decisions and decide, I have to look many times at the fact that all human beings are equal and subject to the same rights. I also have to remember that I have to join the police who want to appear in my mentality in a short chain… And in the midst of that general confusion, I better try to transform and care for small things in my environment.
My generation has been lost too often in definitions to transform the world and, at the same time, we have rarely put them into practice. Perhaps the following will see reality from other points of view and take away the fear of the chaos of the ideas that have dominated us so much.
These days in my house there are little children. Among them, they have only one common language, but they master three other languages, that is, three other ways of understanding the world. This, in a way, disables me from the concern for their future, because it will be up to them to live in this complex humanity and they will have many tools to transform the world.
And I, like my grandmother, would like to convey some courage to you. The enthusiasm for caring for the beings in my environment, for caring for small things… Because, after all, I have found the meaning of my life in this care.
