Claqueta, makeup and starting order. In front of the tarima about 400 viewers, placed in comfortable armchairs. On this occasion, the Vulk Group has filled a theatre. Live songs are mixed with pre-recorded images to play with the idea of reality and simulacro, truth and lie.

Vulk
(Zinebi Festival)
When: 14 November
Where: Sala BBK (Bilbao)

The four Vulk members appear on the screen on a white background. It's not clear what a wall or the ground is. It is clear that they have been creating confusion. Cameras and filmmakers appear on the map so we don't forget that what we're seeing is a representation. The song is finished and the plató is empty. In the next scene the four members of the group appear in a white room. Quiet, nervous and annoying. This is when they appear onstage outside the screen singing on an electronic base Andoni de La Cruz (voice) and Jean Keatz Larrañaga Jangitz (drums), remembering Sleaford Mods. Anger at words. In the background we can see the team members in the captivity of the screen. Sometimes, life is a jail. A prison that takes a wide variety of forms. Also art, especially when it becomes a spectacle, can be a jail.

What is out, however, is not easy. Death is persecuted. Anywhere, enemy death will always take place in the heel. It is clear that the group is undergoing a process of transformation, as in music and words they have sung all the songs in Basque on the album they are going to publish. A process of transformation involves death and birth. Here's what the team members imagined on the big screen: The photographs of Vulk's past follow the delicate work of an artisan. Perhaps it was an exercise of nostalgia. They may not want to forget where they come from. Maybe you've wanted to thank them for what they've given your ancestors. However, the stage presents the new character of Vulk. In spite of the changes, those of us who have spent a long time perceiving the energy of always. Jangitz looks like a devil in the battery, which can only be balanced with the elegance of guitarist Julen Alberdi. Seeing Alberto Egiluz’s bass is wonderful because he plays with measured passion and whole body. In voices, Andoni, in charge of an army of a thousand men. That's Vulk.

Once the function is finished, it is not clear whether what has been seen has been the birth of a representation or a new forging. But the flooding of energy that has taken place here in its interior has left the spectators open. In the street, in the heavy rain, they will highlight the strength of what is seen and heard. Nearby, the river, a giant snake, seems to have to overflow and end this city. And whether or not it was, only those of us who were there will know.
