Continue with the cooperative wave of Euskalgintza
The agents who are working on the development of transformative cooperativism tell us, through five cooperative waves, the development of Basque cooperativism, with the aim of giving depth to its history and plurality of character. In this sense, we place the third cooperative wave in the flowering of the self-training projects that was the Basque cultural revolution of the 1960s and 1970s.
Even though that wave provided a plentiful harvest that has come to this day, some projects were halfway or without real development, such as the stone apostles of Oteiza, who for fifteen years remained on the edge of the Arantzazu road. What happened along the way?

The 1970s gave many possibilities of self-formation, as the pulsation of the need to do everything developed strong citizen dynamics. But it was also the time of institutionalization, as the self-formed instruments also had the need to achieve stable forms. This need was developed in three ways: administrative public, market and social economy. The paradigm of regime 78 was the great development of public space. Also in the field of Basque culture, especially in its beginnings, several self-formed projects became public, always within the framework of the State of the Autonomies. From time to time, this line began to diffuse, especially due to the paradigm of commodification, and from a moment on, projects with a goal and a public or community vision tended to be homologated within the framework of the capitalist market. Where, then, has the social economy remained?
Many projects, fleeing from the autonomic state model or from the merkantila dichotomy, have chosen to move forward in the cooperative formulas they have adopted from the beginning or later, addressing the path of community autonomy offered by the social economy. In the bases of Basque cultural activity it has been important to answer questions such as what and how: resources and structures have been created to live in Basque, but it has been given importance to manage them in a citizen and democratic way, since solidaridad.En the next convulsive and apocalyptic times, the choice of Basque culture will be important: approval or transformation; submission
or sovereignty. We have projects that draw futures in Euskera, such as the Aiaraldea Activity Branch. Cooperativism and independent work will be important instruments on the road to transformation.
