Basket Beats Borders | Many | Self-production.

In order to understand the Basket Beats Borders initiative, we must be at the Shilla refugee camp in Lebanon. There, 25,000 Palestinians are fled from the violence and cruelty of the State of Israel, including the group of girls between the ages of 16 and 20 who formed the basketball team. Thanks to a solidarity network created in Italy and Euskal Herria, in 2017 they traveled outside Lebanon, played against other groups of girls from these two European countries, lived other experiences outside the camp and made known the plight of the Palestinians.

Now they want to try to get out of the refugee camp again. The idea is to take basketball players to play Italy, Euskal Herria and Spain. To finance it, 53 musical groups from Euskal Herria and Spain have released a song, which are available on a double CD, on bandcamp and on Spotify.

Of the groups that we can find in the collection, seventeen are from Euskal Herria and very diverse: The Blood Raggamuffin of Mono, the punk rock of Penadas Por La Ley, the electro-industrial of The Suicide of Western Culture, the hardcore-punk of Estricalla, the dark punk of Arrotza, the hardcore-pancre-crusta of Culture, the Punat-Rock

In addition to all of them, there are many more and, like basketball players and the struggles between peoples cross borders, we can find teams with very different styles and trajectories: Rozal, Txaran, Tremendous da Jauria, Mafalda, Desakato, Manolo Kabezabolo and many more.

You can already find the physical CD (double) in many points of the tavern and solidarity sale of the Basque Country for 8 euros.
