Euskaldunisation of job and administration vacancies
Arkaitz Zarraga Azumendi @azarramendi 2020ko urtarrilaren 14a

In the coming years, thousands of jobs will be created in the Basque administrations. The time has come for those young people who in the 1980s started working in the newly created institutions to be retreated. In the Basque Country, a lot of people also started working. They were full of illusion and, helped by the Basque rock and the atmosphere of the time, they were Euskaldunizating a lot of people.

Time has passed quickly and the posts that leave these young people have to be filled.

These “themes” and “non-themes” of linguistic profiles have little fiabilidad.Junto to them, why don’t we open the way to results “but”?

Many citizens will start preparing competitions for the institutions, and academies and Euskaltegis will have a great workload. The classrooms will be filled up with students who aim to obtain the linguistic profile. Opinion items thousands, millions. Arguments without great spark, full of organizers and laces. The introduction of conditions, subjunctives and capacities everywhere and in any way shows a level considered. In the oral section, on the other hand, a discussion will be prepared with a stranger in the cage and a five-minute monologue.

Many will work the Basque country far from emotions and feelings. On the one hand, because it is something that students often demand and demand, but on the other hand, we teachers also have a lot of habit of doing it. We are at a time of cohesion and coherence. But these concepts have little to do with the cohesion and coherence of 80.

And so we will not guarantee the Euskaldunisation of the administration. For our students, the reality we have after starting work is going to be very different. Few opinion items and meetings and talks next to the coffee maker. The old habits, the lack of attitude of many and the lack of facilities to talk about some will not allow in most cases to work in Basque.

These “themes” and “non-themes” of linguistic profiles have little fiabilidad.Junto to them, why don’t we open the way to results “but”? Where “but” means “but you have to integrate into the training program until you prove that you are able to do your work in Basque”?

Instead of waiting for classes, Euskaltegis would work in the contexts in which they're going to work, work on real texts, and help students gain confidence. Euskaltegis would once again be the creative illusions of the 1980s, demonstrate their relationship with reality and emotions, and become effective engines of the revitalization process. But the reality is that there is no new generation that wants to present themselves to the job offer to fill the jobs of the Basque Country.
