Dancing with the snake

The songs of the Snake group love it, they captivate it, they capture it, like the movements of a snake. They're both mysterious, sad, brutal, suggestive and dancing melodies. They bring the listener into another situation or into a world, into a kind of trance, on a special trip. These are sensations that are not entirely defined: “At the beginning of the day there is no noise, no calla, no calla; today when rising there was no one, no one; the doors open are open to me, waiting for me,” they say in the song Ixo.
The structures of the songs are simple and highlight the repetitive rhythms of the battery, the bass fort, the sounds of the synthesizers and the harmonies of the voices, whispers and screams. They're short songs, and the entire album is listened to immediately and gladly. It's nine songs and a total of twenty-two minutes.
Bilbaite musicians Ana Arsuaga (voice and keyboards), Beatriz perales (bass) and Elena Núñez (drums) created the Snake group in 2015, and two years later recorded their first work, a five-track EP or a short-lived album. Krisanteilu's new album is a good continuation of this work. They have established, supplemented and strengthened their music, and to this end the work of Urtzi Iza and Hans Kruger has been important. They have been in charge of recording, mixing and mastering: The sound of the Snake group has been more intense and stronger.
They touch post-punk and dark-wave themes from the late 70's and early 80's, in their own way, with their personality and attitude, with their vitality and determination, with the intention of overcoming the limits of the mentioned styles. His music was defined as Euskal-wave/suge-synth when they published their first recording, and his intention is to experiment: “We try to compose, through the experimentation of tones and textures of songs, to reach spaces that have not been explored for us, always starting from the few elements that compose them: battery, bass, keyboard and voice”. In this way, even if they don't have a lot of resources, they try new things, and they obviously have a great time.
