At the time of writing this text, a demonstration called by the LGBTI+ movement of the Basque Country has travelled the streets of the Basque capital. The closing event took place in an atypical location, namely in the Casilda Park, where EPOA (Europride company), the City Hall, the Provincial Council and an association of the city met on weekends. In the Basque media there has been a lot of talk about the reason for this protest (with an emergency call), that is, how we are against the commodification of the struggle, how freedoms and capitalism are misused... So I am not going to extend to that, but to look at things calm and as from the outside – as far as possible – always with a positive perspective.

The LGBTI+ movement was revolutionary at the beginning of 1969, certainly, as we created it in the Basque Country seven years later. We were revolutionaries. And we are. We wanted to revolutionize society. And what queremos.Ya in 1977 claimed a more egalitarian and just society; we sought an alternative to a sexist, machista, heteropratriarcal, classicist and capitalist society. And we're leaving. Gradually, however, throughout the world, part of the movement began to become reformist as rights were recognized. In our country we have maintained the original style, delaying or slowing down the arrival of reformism. But it's matured now, not much. This reality, which is painful for most of us, has its advantages. Here are some of the signs that make me feel hopeful:

1. As we have just said, we have succeeded in provoking a debate on the subject: the subject has not been discussed so much for a long time.

2nd In the mobilizations you see lots of young people. With concern, for years I have not perceived generational relief. I can now retire calmly, because I am convinced that I will continue to work.

3. The EHGAM group, which was born with illusion, mime and affection and has grown for more than four decades, is sick, loose. We have made it emerge with pride. You can say that Harro is what EHGAM was in one day.

4. The system aims to phagocyte the LGBTI+ movement, as it is the best way you know of trying to neutralize everything you don't like. Only the system does it when it sees the wave as dangerous. What we started very small with friends has become a giant, until the system cares for itself.

Mission accomplished. I'm quiet and happy.
