The charm and special emotions of the municipal elections have again been reflected on this occasion. The main results are well known: PNV, except in Pamplona/Iruña; EH Bildu, second in Donostia-San Sebastián and Pamplona/Iruña and third in Bilbao and Vitoria-Gasteiz; PSE, second in Bilbao and Vitoria-Gasteiz and third in Pamplona/Iruña and Donostia-San Sebastián.
In Vitoria-Gasteiz, the battle was not as hard as expected and the PSE, by surprise, was the second force leaving Larrion in third place. What happened? On the one hand, the defeat of the pp and the fact that they have lost 4 seats, have gone to the PNV and the PSE. And, of course, a positive assessment of Uraran's work.
In Pamplona, despite the good results of Mayor Asirón, the best results of Navarre Suma, the bad results of Geroa Bai and the disappearance of Podemos will not allow him to govern. This is the case if the agreement that the PSOE has already considered impossible between EHBildu, PSN and Geroa Bai is not achieved.
Sémper, who has escaped the brand of pp, has achieved a good result maintaining its representation in Donostia-San Sebastián, although its interpretation is not so simple, as in the General Meetings of Gipuzkoa Cano, with the help of pp, has maintained the result of 2015. Therefore, brand or not brand, in Gipuzkoa the PP results were quite “updated” since 2015. On the other hand, Gasco’s great defeat has helped pp to maintain his outcome as president of the government.
Therefore, the PNV leads the capitals of the CAV and, although its second strength is EH Bildu or PSE, the pacts we are going to see are going to be so far, repeating the structure of the institutions – which has a long life of general agreement PNV-PSE – making it difficult for real consensus and alternative governments. To do so, these two parties would collect the votes that the pp has lost, of course, to strengthen the right and the Basque constitutionalism.
And again, the heads of the four capitals, the men. There's no change in this either.
