First walk through space
  • The first trip to space was made by Yuri Gagarín in 1961; in 1969, Neil Armstrong was the first man to step on the Moon.

As these two are the major milestones of space competition, it is rarely remembered that, in March 1965, the Soviet astronaut Aleksei Leonov took the first space walk.

Armstrong’s phrase “A small step for a man, a terrible leap for humanity,” which we all remember as the 50th anniversary of the moon approaches.
