The four winds or the four winds?

Today, in 2019, in the passion of the Basques to extend our culture and customs to “the four winds”, have we forgotten the diffusion of the language? Isn't Euskera what makes us Euskaldunes? At all times we internationalize all things so that everyone can enjoy our culture, but we are being forgotten that the Basques are the first to enjoy, because it is our people.
In addition to the above examples, I would place thousands more at the BEC (Bilbao Exhibition Centre), Itzulia Basque Country, DonostiCup… But today we will focus on the San Sebastian Film Festival. I do not know if you remember it, but the San Sebastian Festival changed its logo last year, from now on it is called SSIFF, that is, in the hope that it will receive more strength and impact with the name of San Sebastián International Film Festival.
Before starting to think, we will start with the numbers: 60th anniversary of Donostia-San Sebastián. The Festival had 157,256 viewers, the 62 edition with 158,608, and the 63 edition had 174,901 viewers. Don't you think it's the festival itself that opens itself up? Do we, the students of the Lauaizeta Institute, think that the Basque culture should be disseminated using the Basque, especially because we believe that the Basque culture is part of the Basque culture, and if we really have to extend it to the “four winds”, we believe that the most appropriate is to expand the whole pack.
Would it be the same if we named the Castellers de Catalunya in English? Or if we went further and called Sunset at the American Halloween party, would it be the same? The point is that we have known and internalized the cultures of others, often not always, in the original language without any problems, but when it comes to spreading our culture we have thought that our language is a problem of diffusion, and that is our mistake.
We are Euskaldunes, Euskaldunes, with a wonderful culture, which we want to let the world enjoy our culture; but let us not forget that the Basque is what makes us Euskaldunes, and that the Basque is a beautiful and profound language to be proud and open to the “four winds”.
This is our reflection, we do not think that with this humble opinion we will change the logo of the Festival, but we want to encourage you to reflect, because that is our goal. So have we achieved our goal?
