Fifteen opportunities to understand Gaztetxe and music
It is 30 years since the young people of the city began to give life to the house of the Cerro del Casco Viejo de Vitoria-Gasteiz. At that time I spent my summer stays in Vitoria at my uncle's house and remember that my cousin taught me and told me what the Gaztetxe was just started. But when asked about the door, his cousin, insecure, chose not to bring the boy. Who would then have thought that that building would have such a prosperous life and that I would later have a close relationship with the young people?
The life of gaztetxes is often cyclical, fluctuating, depending on the impulses, forces and motivations of young people; and it also has to do with the age, and with which they come. However, the one in Vitoria-Gasteiz, with the exception of a few years, has been seasonal for 30 years and has remained active as a permanent refuge for many of the initiatives of this small city. From generation to generation, it's still alive.
In the field of music it has also always been quite open, and although in 2001 they celebrated their anniversary with the CD of many known groups of Euskal Herria, this time the collection has been completed with smaller groups of Vitoria-Gasteiz: Trikoma transports us to Jamaica through reggae-ska; Indar eta Markes Iraizos have joined forces to materialize the classic of aggressive messages; Neither Yuta Ni Tuya denounces the secret to the sound of cumbia; Zorriak, successor of Kaletarra rock, sings with bitterness; Izaki Garra turns us on the guitar.
