In particular, Mariano Rajoy’s speech provoked the biggest “fire” and last Saturday thousands of pensioners returned to the streets massively, especially Hego Euskal Herrian.Rajoy is a faithful manager of capitalism and has taken the path imposed by the system: privatising pensions to feed financial institutions. For that I lie: there is no money to pay pensions, let alone to maintain the current public pension system in the future. In order to gain time and avoid the pressure on the street, it has announced some improvement, without overspecifying, for the recipients of minimum and widowed pensions, but in exchange for approving the state budgets. He has asked the other parties to support the budgets in Parliament, and if not – it is already there! The situation of pensioners will be the responsibility of the opposition, for not supporting it. A shameful blackmail!
It is untrue that there is no money to change the situation of pensioners. What is lacking is political will. There is money to pay NATO EUR 20 billion a year. There are another EUR 60 billion to rescue the banks, EUR 2 billion to do the same with the highways, and EUR 1 billion for the monarchy, the army, the politicians… It is a matter of priorities, to see how we distribute wealth. And whoever is at the service of capitalism, like the PP, has those priorities. From Euskal Herria we demand economic and political sovereignty, but that it be to manage social security that responds to the interests of citizens and workers. Because, yes, from here you can also manage like Rajoy.
