Concentration artifact at work
- The writer and inventor Hugo Gernsback (1884-1967) patented and presented the device The Isolator in 1925. As its name suggests, this remarkable helmet isolated the user from sounds, limited peripheral vision and helped to focus their attention on work.
I also had a bottle of oxygen so the user wouldn't worry about breathing. Hugo Gernsback was the forerunner of modern science fiction. Among other things, he created the Amazing Stories magazine. And the prizes awarded by the World Science Fiction Convention are called Hugo in his honor. But the isolation helmet wasn't successful. Why will it be?
