Yes, it was a small text, but it was a great responsibility. I felt the weight of responsibility over me, a cold sweat. In fact, it's the presentation of an important person, who had to be short and humorous ... Yes, it has been a responsibility, but it has also been an honour and a nice challenge.

You have named Jakoba “the messiah of the Basques.” What did you base yourself on to make that statement?

(Laughter) I've known Jakoba forever. For the first time, we collaborated in the 1990s, Noaua! In the process of launching the journal. So I realized that I had something special about how to talk, how to see the project. I saw it further away from what others saw, as if it had a different gift. He has also now seen a revolution in the garden, and I think it goes one step further. In addition, the Messiah has followers: he has the ability to attract people, he takes into account what he says and people make that path with him. So in the presentation, I used that metaphor.

Does humor have a place in the garden?

For Jakoba, the orchard is a revolution, the biggest one right now. For me, humor is also a revolution, a plough of everyday life and everything. There are no subjects that cannot be dealt with with with humor. On the contrary, I think we have to bring humor to those “serious” issues, and Altza Porru is a pioneer in that.

What do you think the book has more, information or humor?

Like the garden of the sun and the rain, I think this book has both of these things. Through humor, he manages to give information, and when people receive information in a loving way, it's much easier for them to stay in the head. In this sense, Errekondo and all the artists who have participated in the project have made a very sweet product.

Each author of the book has depicted the cartoons of Asisco with a vegetable. What will you be?

I do not doubt that! Carrot (ja, ja). In our house, the word carrot has always been used to designate the person who is crazy, absurd. “What an Azanaiyua!” We say it with affection and the carrot is appreciated as widely used. In addition, I see myself reflected with that intense color of the carrot, full of energy: always put in a thousand sauces… Yes, I would say I am carrot.
