In autumn 2015, Garazi Arrula Ruiz and Danele Sarriugarte Mochales published the books Authors plazara eta Itzultzaileak, thanks to a crowdfunding. In it, they have published the selection of the crop of the blog Elearazi, fed in the previous three years, putting on paper what has been started online and ending the project.
In the first book we have the sections of fiction and non-fiction, some translations of the section “translated into Basque” of the blog, and in the second book we have some interviews and chronicles about the translation of the section “reflection” of the blog. Next we discuss the first book. Two are the contributions of what I mean: on the one hand, literature and on the other, feminism and gender learning.
It can be said that the Basque literature has been increasingly varied and rich since the twentieth century, and in this aspect the work of translations stands out. It seems that there is little reading among readers of Basque literature, and little is programmed in the groups of readers. If we were to give them the opportunity, we would know other cultures, experiences and locations and when we know the “universal literature” we could look with other eyes to the “Basque literature”. Isn't it attractive?
Through these translations, I would like to thank the novelists for publicizing some authors and works, and with them, other ways of living and treating life. In these texts, suicides, sluts, drug addicts, witches, cannibals or lesbians will speak to us and from Europe we will go to America or Africa. Sometimes when you're done reading, you'll have to take some time to digest those words, sometimes you'll get reified as you read them, and each text will leave your mark, putting us into question, asking unexpected questions.
On the other hand, they would like to thank for their contribution to gender studies and feminism in Euskera. Or better! Virginie Despentes, Itziar Ziga, Beatriz preciado, Lucas Platero and Javier Saez are authors of Discourses, Constructions, Bodies, Monique Wittig, Denise Riley, Elizabeth Grosz and Anne Fausto-Sterling. In the Church's Place of Authors we find, among others, texts by Pedro Lemebel, Audre Lorde, Cherrie Moraga, Paco Vidada and Assata Shakur, a luxury bibliography in Basque for any feminist school.
They offer us literature, translation and reflection on blogs and books, which the English would call food for thought and think out the box. For further reading: Elearazi.eizie.eus

They're one of the most beautiful memories I have in my heart. At the time I was doing Basque Philology and we went to a society in Arbizu to a concert by Ruper Ordorika. There were Rikardo Arrangi Diaz of Heredia and Juanjo Olasgrip. I didn't dare to tell Arrangi that I had in my... [+]
