Pastoral care in Gotaine
At last year's Aberri Eguna we had dreamed a thousand times, but we have achieved a dream that we thought was never going to materialize, in Gotaine. I have written “in some way”, in its origin, when we were young, because this pan-Basque and popular dream was going to have other margins and pledges, in part I remember. It is only a matter of time.
Dreams are like mountain peaks. When you get there, you realize that almost nothing is the way I had imagined it. That doesn't mean it's worse, it's different.

The Basques of Pamplona gave the Pastoral Aberri Eguna in the Plaza de Gotain, in the rain, with the snow of Bortüko patrolling, on the occasion of the 27th edition of the Xiru festival. We were all there. Let us not say anything to this humble author: when we finished the performance, I had the pleasure of saying goodbye to Jean Louis Davant, one of the great living pastoral writers (a litaike named Junes Casenave), unless in the same square we were 23 years before the Eüskaldünak Revolution founded by his pen and we repeated the last song then.
I do not know, as Mixel Etxekopa said in the Xiberu Botza, whether the Pastoral Giver can be one of the most important events of the year in terms of pastoral care. What I know is that he has brought together a number of good voices, expert dancers and musicians, at the head of all Aritz Ibañez and Ihitz Iriart, to pay tribute to our friend, at heart, and to passionately reclaim our own identity and our Basque status.
We know that the pastoral care is from Zuberoa and Zuberoa, and we do not want to compete with anyone. We know that the weight of tradition in our exhibitions and in our culture is great, and that, therefore, there will be those who condemn our intention. But we firmly believe, these manex, that our determination is not to the detriment of anyone or against anyone, not to be for the pastoral ministry itself, provided that Bider is made of love and respect. We also believe that the Sulatins must be faithful because for centuries they have been able to work, keep and beautify the form of theatre that is model and path for the rest of the Basques.
We must thank the Xiru festival, Ihitz Iriarte and Mixel Etxekopa, and we want to remember and honor the name of Dominika Agergarai, a generation that in Zuberoa wants to live with the earth but at the same time with the world and the rest of the provinces of Euskal Herria.
The next challenge is to learn the sweet language of Zuberera and the singer. In the meantime, Long live the Pastoral! Long live Zuberoa! Long live Navarra! Viva Euskal Herria!
