The turbid water of the false transition has reached its peak. The decadent and degraded fabric of the Spanish State is becoming increasingly apparent. In the foundation are corruption, injustice, denial of the rights of people and peoples. Moreover, the People’s Party (PP) has launched, under the tangle of an absolute majority and the shadow of the economic crisis, some of the bleak reforms that were pending forty years ago.
For a moment it seemed – to the point where there was the impression of a small illusion – that this oxidized structure was about to fall in its entirety; that the transition period could come. But the word illusion has no two meanings in vain, and unfortunately, the second prevails in the political news coming from Spain: the misinterpretation of what is perceived by the sensation.
The status quo has found the way from destruction to galvanization. Bipartisanship, the main symbol and guide of decay, has found custom crutches on the left and right (with the center in a catamaran). New aspects, new faces, but ultimately a continuation of the spirit of 78. As the general elections approach, it is becoming increasingly clear that a decent constituent stage will not be opened. At most, we can expect a hand of painting, something similar to an aesthetic surgery operation. However, the results could lead to an ultraconservative centralizing murmur.
For those who are at the starting point of leaving that spent state, the post-election scenario can be both a danger and a conjuncture. On the one hand, hungry for change and disappointed by the new central government, some Catalans who so far have not seen this possibility clear can take refuge in independence. To this end, it would be an opportunity to start developing a differentiated constituent process, provided that the Catalan State project is maintained in the necessary connection with the democratic breakdown. On the other hand, however, it is clear that the main objective of the new Moncloa Government is to extinguish the fire in Catalonia. The neutralizing attempt can be very varied: from denial and repression to the opening of dialogue. The first, the attitude of denial, would be to continue to extinguish fire through the wind. The second can be more effective in the work of extinction, with an attractive offer that will seek to create contradictions between the parties to the declaration of disconnection.
The independence parties must be prepared, close and prepared at that time. Unfortunately, the process is in the umpteenth place. Precisely, the situation in which the yarns are located is the weakest to deal with the attacks that come from Spain. Nobody said it was easy for the two antagonistic extremes involved, the anti-capitalist left and the neoliberals on the right to build something at once. Well, to move forward, the priority must be the construction of a country and the construction of a state. Both of them will have to figure out how to reconcile the need to improve the process with flexibility on some issues and maintain minimal coherence with one’s own ideas. If you tighten the rope too tightly to one side, there can be a break that does not turn back. It's not the time.
Although the media whirlwind keeps us looking elsewhere, in Euskal Herria, out of focus, new opportunities can also be opened. We must keep the soil of the right to decide, whatever happens.

Life surrounds everything, it is limited and fragile. To live good lives, it seems to me that the body knows what to do, while the mind, although it knows (when it is well informed), often sees the body deliberately silence. In this silence the mind opens itself to relations... [+]

Since Benito Lertxundi, who told us that he will leave the scenes for ever, we have been there for several weeks, and since then many of us have felt orphans in one way or another, with a sense of loss or abandonment, sad. To Iruindarro, at least, we will remain forever honored... [+]
There are three knots that complicate our coexistence in the Basques, and for many years, despite our patience and determination, we are unable to break free from these ties. There are at least three knots of the moment: prisoners, Basque, immigrants.

Today, the voices of women and children remain within a culture that delegitimizes their voices, silencing their experiences, within a system aimed at minimizing or ignoring their basic rights and needs. A media example of this problem is the case of Juana Rivas, but her story... [+]
