It is official: Catalonia starts disconnection
- The political environment in Catalonia is in the dark following the parliamentary session this Monday in Madrid. It is not clear who will be elected President, but it is with the statement that the process of independence has entered a new phase.
Constituent process
The resolution adopted by the Catalan Parliament has declared the judgments of the Spanish Constitutional Court null and void, which have condemned the facts. It officially instructs Parliament to communicate the agreement to the European governments.
53%
The resolution adopted has the support of the parliamentarians of Junts pel Yes and the Cup, 72 of the 135 in Parlament. In other words, 53% of the delegates elected by the Catalans on 27 September voted in favour of the initiative.
Another way
On Monday we also voted on another initiative by the parliamentarians of Catalonia Yes Que Es pot in the Parlament de Catalunya. A referendum agreed upon by the Spanish Courts will be held on the basis of the elections to be held on 20 December.
