Bulls versus sheep
A few years ago, the “Spaniards” in their cars placed the bull sticker to mark I don’t know what character of them, and the “Basques” invented the latxa sheep sticker that marked I don’t know what character of them.
Since then, instead of carrying an ikurrina, a sheep tells us whether the car ahead is reliable or not. The sheep, the bull or the donkey of the Catalans define what goes there.
And paradoxically, although the greatest threat to the sheep has been the wolf, I do not know of any people who wanted to compare their nationality with a wolf, so the sheep, in the symbolic world of cars, are eaten by bulls.
Here are two measures taken by the PNV in the first week of government in San Sebastian: to declare the return of the bullfights to the city and to remove the sheep that were in the park of Ametzagaina. These two decisions, taken suddenly and urgently, have left me the same symbolic value as the stickers behind cars. I do not know which animal Mayor Eneko Goia has in his car, but with those decisions, it has become clear to me who is prepared to play the role of wolf.
