Insatiable and cruel capitalism
The International Monetary Fund (IMF), a symbol of world capitalism, has once again attacked workers and citizens. In addition, it has criticised the sovereignty of each country to make its own decisions. Last week, with the approval of the Bank of Spain, he called for a new labour reform in the Spanish State to, he says, strengthen the recovery. In order to do so, it has called for the reduction and facilitation of redundancies for workers with indefinite contracts, removing the legal and administrative obstacles that exist in collective redundancies. The IMF also calls for more flexibility in wages and working hours, resulting in increased productivity. And it has called for the increase in VAT and the application of the repayment in education and health.
We must not forget that we have been engaged in the anti-social reforms promoted by the IMF since the beginning of the crisis. The crisis was not generated by the citizens, but by the capitalist financiers. And the austerity policy pursued so far has not served to increase economic growth and the employment rate, on the contrary, has increased unemployment and increased precariousness, exclusion, social inequalities and poverty.
Once again, the IMF has shown a face of savage scavenger that enjoys the flesh and blood of the most vulnerable workers. Its managers are enriched with millionaire salaries and diets, and capitalism is revealed as it is: savage and insatiable. They call for more austerity on the workers, more work and less money. A situation we must all face together: politicians, social partners, trade unions and anti-capitalist grass-roots movements. We have to stop capitalism from doing another savage reform. The new governments that have formed in municipalities, deputies and communities, especially where there are leftist forces, should lead that radical opposition to the anti-social measures of the IMF.
