A group of German researchers has just looked at the movement of ant groups and drawn surprising conclusions. Research work has been published in the journal The Science of Nature.Se
has observed that the speed of movement from the nest to the place where the food is found is 50% lower than that of the reverse path. The more ants move along the path, the faster they move without stumbling.
Also, the more ants, the larger the area they occupy, to reach the same destination. If two wells are on the road, they take advantage of this moment to exchange information. During the search for the food, the route is made at an almost constant speed, but once the food is located, all the elements of the nest begin to work with the same objective. The platoon that was once distributed joins and begins to apply a logic that we do not know. This logic has nothing to do with what we humans use on the highways, for example, where, more cars, the speed is slower.
The new objective of researchers is to understand the logic of ants and transfer them to the human sphere.
