Azote kaldüz
Eskean Kristö
Baga Biga, 2015
This first long album by the group Eskean Kristö Arratia Bailara (Bizkaia) gives continuity to the work composed of six songs that saw the light in 2013. They have done so along the same lines. That is, rock-and-roll and hard rock: guitar songs, riff and wild punch songs, and songs that are easily remembered.
They seek the spirit of rock and roll and hard rock from the 1970s and 1980s. In his songs there are influences from groups such as AC-DC, The Rolling Stones, Kiss, Guns N’ Roses, Niko Etxart, Sexty Sexers or Willis Drummond, among others.
In 2013 they won the EH Sona competition organized by the Euskal Etxea of Barcelona and the band competition organized by the Azkue Foundation, and the Azkue Foundation has helped them make their first long album.
The album Azote kaldüz has been engraved, mixed, mastered and produced by Martxel Arkarazo at the Garate Studios of Andoain and the illustrations and design have been made by Jon Artetxe. Whip! In the song, Niko Etxart, Professor Niko Etxart, has given his voice and rock and roll, according to the group members themselves.
All songs have been composed by Pello Artabe (voice), Alex Harillo (guitar), Aritz Ontalvilla (guitar), Peio Artetxe (bass, harmonica and voices) and Imanol Arres (drums). The lyrics of the song "Deny" are based on texts from the book Umeek gezurra esaten dute, by Uxue Apaolaza.
They have created a powerful and compact melody, very well produced. The group uses its musical instruments with great skill and also does so with vitality, salt and pepper, joy and shame. The components of the group are young, they are all around the age of 24, but they seem to be older.
In the songs they talk about interference, corruption, hypocrisy of politicians, poverty and other themes, street language, raw, aggressive, brothel, humor and lascive. The words are written in unified Basque, but some rat words have also been used. For the listeners to understand everything, they have incorporated a small dictionary of Our Unified Berbategie.
In public performances, the Eskean Kristö group is doing very well on the stage. The comrades bring everything inside. They do spectacular programs and try to connect with the public.
