The Spanish Government, as well as that of Vitoria-Gasteiz and Iruña, have very positively valued the job creation data of November. But if we analyze them objectively and accurately, they're not able to rocket. The employment generated is of low quality, unstable, temporary and concentrates mainly on contracts that last only a few hours. The unemployed have less and less social protection and, as has always happened, it is women and young people who suffer most from paradise. In the Spanish State, Social Security members have increased by 5,232 people and decreased by 14,668 people, to a total of 4.5 million. However, the increase in contributions in the Spanish state in November has only affected men (7,165 more), while women have suffered damage (1,932 less).

In the case of Hego Euskal Herria, unemployment has fallen by 1,606 people, of whom 216,235 have been unemployed. The number of employment contracts, however, has been drastically reduced: A further 24,743 contracts have been signed. Indefinite recruitment has decreased by 31.73%. Thus, between January and November 2008, a total of 91,702 indefinite contracts were signed, compared to 62,600 in the same period this year. Almost 94% of contracts signed in 2014 are unstable. The lack of social protection for the unemployed affects a total of 119,560 people, representing 54.88 per cent of the unemployed. That means that these thousands of people do not receive any economic benefit. Only one in four unemployed persons receives a contributory benefit.

In this context, it is necessary for Governments to promote the creation of quality jobs and to strengthen employment among women and young people. Investment should also be made in social policies and public services for people in long-term unemployment. Strong policies that would eliminate corruption, fraud and tax havens would help to make that investment.
