In 1922, Sir William Lyons founded the motorcycling company Swallow Sidecar Company in the English town of Coventry. The company's cars carried at the front of the hood the symbol of the initials SS (in the photo) until the end of World War II, but after the war the leaders thought that the logo would make them a disservice in the market and, in the hope that the Nazism touch would ruin the prospective buyers, changed the company's name: Jaguar Cars.
